The International Celtic School Of Languages are pleased to announce that we are now offering a very high quality range of courses for English for Legal Purposes.

We specialise at the following subjects:

* Negotiating and drafting Commercial Contracts in English. Key aspects of Englsih Contract Law. The components of international agreements. Negotiation and drafting of "operative" and "boiler-plate" clauses. Practivcal advise on drafting method and style.

* Commercial Law & Legal Negotiation. Background to English Law. Negotiation and international distribution agreement.

* Company Law and Legal Negotiation. Topics covered include: Company Law, Company Finance, Negotiation: "Forming a Company"

* Finance/Banking Law and Legal Negotiation. Topics covered include: Financial Law, Loan Agreements, Negotiation: "Negotiating a Company Loan"

* Tax Law and Legal Presentation. Topics covered include: Company Law, Tax Law, Presentation: "Structuring Corporate Finance"

* Writing Legal Texts in English. Skills covered include: Writing letters, e-mails, faxes, short reports and memoranda. Drafting letters of intent, heads of terms, memoranda of understanding and settlements. Negotiation: "Settling a Contractual Claim".

* Reading and Understanding Contracts in English. Topics covered include: The structure and key elements of international agreements. Common Clauses and their purposes. Background contract law and key terminology. Commonly confused terms. Discussion of sample agreements (e.g. distribution; service; licensing, etc).

These courses run three times a year and they consist of 3 full days training.

Our tutor Denis Lyons BA LLB DIP TEFLA, Barrister-at-Law (Grays Inn) Member International Bar Association, Memeber Free Representation Unit of the Bar of England and Wales.

Denis is a lecturer in Law and Communication. He holds degrees in Philosophy (National University of Ireland) and\Law (University of Westminter). He was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1994. Since then he has written and taught courses in Law and Legal Communication in Brazil, Thailand, Turkey, Slovenia, France and Germany. Thyese courses have mostly been for commercial lawyers both in-house counsel and those in private practise. His clients include banks and leading firms of lawyers and accountants.

He specialises in Teaching the English Legal System, Contract/ Commercial Law and contract drafting. He is currently a visiting lecturer at London University (S.O.A.S.) where he teaches European Law, the English Legal System and Negotiation. He also works, pro bono, advising on employment and immigration matters. He speaks French and has a good working knowledge of German, Italian and Latin. Denis is a native Irish-English speaker.
